Do You Believe in God?
When cleaning up the old mails... got this mail, which I have sent to group of friends, during a discussion on God years back.. still much of the though process remains the same I believe. A lengthier post !.
To start of, where did we come from, where we are going and who is behind all the things happenings.
I think no one could deny that a super natural power exists. Man named him as GOD.. . As in early days man was widely separated by geographical locations.. as civilization developed rapidly, mankind united in their respective locations... later it was MAN who created the religion for the sake of UNITY.. To have a unity mankind put the blame on the GOD /religion and did some wanted/unwanted things.. and later leaders did the things for their own wish in the name of religion and god..
The very strange fact is that the same Religion which unites people also divides people. (This is a bit tricky). Even though no religion says to oppose other religion or gods, some where some how it started for a selfish reason to prove leadership or some strange reasons.. It is the religion/race/ethnic/ add on had killed most lives than any other natural disaster...
Now coming to my personal experience, during my primary school days every Friday, my parents would take me to Anjayaneya temple I never refuse that because, I could skip my studies/home work at that time.. and I would get some thing on shops to eat after visit to temple.. Later in secondary school days, I was very much interested in studies, ( Studied for understanding not for the sake of simply studying) I stopped going to temple, even then some time my parents used to insist me to go to temple, even then I go inside temple, all my mind would be in the slippers which I had left below my cycle.. !!. Later during college days, when I started reading more books/magazines/ moving towards a larger circle of friends, I developed a sort of attitude towards worship. I started going for my parents happiness and later went for peaceful diversion and get some sort of concentration. Still I go to temple but these days I don't worry about my slippers I left in front of gate or about the problem I needed to solve the next day. I simply go there that's it...
Now coming back to the question. There could be only one answer for this. The answer is yet to be found out. ( Which I think we will never find out)There is no denial that there is a super natural power behind all these things.. if you say it is GOD, who created god.. if you say all came from the BIG BANG, what was there before the big bang... no answers.. Saying all this I don't say I am believer nor that I am a disbeliever,A Super natural power EXISTS . It is not going to give you Bread and butter (or even Idly dosa with sambar and chutney). Do all the best to get your basic needs, and try helping others.. It does not matter whether you go to temple or pray god or believe in God.
