Friendship

Recent quote from a forward.

"Friendship is not a big thing, it is about a million smaller things".

I think this holds good for any relationships as well. I just realized what I have been unwilling to do all these years.

Better late than never..

The HitchHiker's Guide to Galaxy

I have been a Fan of Issac Asimov, ever since I started reading the Foundation novels. From Jan 2006 I started to buy and read his books. Three months back I almost have collected and read most of his novels (which are available in landmark and odyssey). That is where I came across Douglas Adam's "The Ultimate Hitch Hiker's Guide to Galaxy" which was like a collector's edition, all of his six novels in single book. I purchased this book, but almost was never able to read it for almost three months. Yesterday I completed one novel "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to Galaxy".

If there is a full length Science Fiction comedy how would it be? I am sure this novel would come under that. Though a different genre, I enjoyed reading this novel. The story goes like this , before earth is demolished (for building a by pass in galaxy !!) Arthur Dent (a resident of earth) and Ford Perfect (a Galaxy hitchhiker who was stranded in earth for 15 years) gets lift in to a space ship with the help of the cooks in the space ship. Later the space ship commander finds them and expels from the ship in space. They are picked up by another state of the art ship in the Universe "Heart of Gold" with in a span of 29 seconds!!. From they they go to the a planet called Magrathea. The residents of the planet are specialized in making planets. About 10 million years ago they have made a planet called Earth!!. To know the surprise why and what happened next, better read the novel. (If you are ready to miss the humour in the book, you could refer the wikipedia article about this novel to know the surprise)

A Sample Humour From the Novel

it is at times like this , when I am trapped in a Vogon Airlock with a man from Beteleuse and about to die of asphyxiation in deep space, that I really wish that I should have listened to what my mother told me when I was young.

Why, what did she tell you?

I don't know, I didn't listen then..

The next novel in the book is The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. I hope I will complete it much sooner.

POC -III, Mozhi

The world is talking about Sivaji and since I have not got a chance to see it. I write about two movies, which I watched after a long gap (After pokiri in Jan) in the last ten days.

POC-III
This is not a proof of concept, but pirates of the Caribbean, at least that is how it was advertised in Bangalore newspapers.Saw it in PVR theatre in Bangalore. I have not watched POC-I, POC-II. So no expectation, so not much disappointment as well. Let me be honest, I could not understand head and tail of the story. May be you need to see Part I and Part II to understand it. But two of my friends (with whom I saw the movie), who have seen the movie earlier as well didn't enjoy that much. The story has too many double triple crossings and very difficult to follow. But I enjoyed three scenes in the movie (The Graphics was a way too good)
a) The ship falling at the world's end,
b) Jack trying to pull the ship in the desert
c) The two ships caught in a storm at the climax.

Mozhi
I would have not watched this movie for another long time, but thanks to my Aunt and her son, who had made a trip from Mumbai.I managed to watch it along with them surprisingly on a weekday. Almost I see no one who has criticized this movie. Yes it is an nearly flawless performance. I see nothing wrong with the movie, a good story, a much better screen play, with very good dialogues.Though I would have preferred to watch it with only one or maximum of two songs. The un-written rule that a movie should have five songs, for both the audio sales and for audience (distributor) happiness(!!). I wish I see these kind of movies come at a regular interval in tamil cinema and becoming a hit as well.

Without E-Mails..

Trying to remember when was the last time, that I have not checked mails for four consecutive days. The recent one which I could remember was a trip to bandipur two years back. But It was just for two days. This time when I went to Bangalore for my MBA exams, I could make it possible, not to check emails for four consecutive days. Being a Network Engineer Internet has become both a professional work and personal passion. But some times taking a break from work and to some extent technology will make you think and to certain extent recharge your batteries. I am trying to re-look at the life, the lost moments, adjusting priorities. Let me see how it goes on.

Bangalore Trips..

Clicking on the "create new post" link in blogger after quite sometime. When both official and personal life gets hectic, one will not have much time for themselves. That is what has happened in the past 20 days. Two trips to Bangalore each about for a week, one official and another personal (MBA exams). Returned from the second trip just today.

Bangalore is still very cooler when compared to Chennai. But since I was in Bangalore for six years, I feel Bangalore temperature has increased especially during mid day. The pleasantness in the climate still exists in the morning till 8:30 AM. But in the mid-day it is hotter than usual.

The transport in the town to certain extent has improved.Previously the BMTC bus stand used to wake up only at around 6:00 AM.But these days it is much awake as early as 5:00 AM and has buses to most parts of the city . They have also introduced some A/C buses for travelling within the city. I mainly see they are in the Electronic City and ITPL routes. Once travelled from madiwala to electronic city, the ticket priced at Rs20 is twice that of normal fair Rs10. But still worth it for the Hi-Tech Bus with A/C in the peak hours.

Few of the autos are also changing. Previously very rarely an auto driver will refuse to come for a particular place and they used to ask for one and half charge only in the night after 9:00 PM. These days many of the auto's are refusing to come to a particular place and few of them ask for one and half the meter charge even in the day timings.

Changing times and Changing Cities.
